Barker Hot Chili Peppers are a variety of chili peppers known for their extra heat and great flavor, making them one of the hottest among the Anaheim/New Mexico types. Barker's Hot Peppers have a Scoville heat unit (SHU) rating of 15,000 to 30,000, which is significantly hotter than regular Anaheim peppers. The peppers grow to 5-7 inches in length. The plants thrive in hot, dry climates. The plants themselves are about 2 feet tall.  The peppers ripen from green to red, with the heat increasing as they mature to red.
